Apple Squares

This is almost like an apple cake but better!  Apple squares are good for breakfast, brunch, dessert, hot or cold and with vanilla ice cream.  If you like cinnamon and sugar then this is the recipe for you!

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl toss together the apples, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Next, add the flour, baking soda and salt to the bowl and combine.

In a separate small bowl add the eggs and beat. Combine the oil and vanilla with the eggs.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly until you get a thick batter.

Place the batter into an ungreased 9×13 pan. Bake for 40-45 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups chopped apples
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
